"To love would be an awfully big adventure."

Ask   Be a light, not a bulb.

At twenty-four I am currently going through an obsession with Peter Pan. Firm believer of Peace & Love. Jesus has my heart. I enjoy my family & friends. I want to see this world change which is why I have accepted our Savior and joyfully welcome all the current changes he is doing in my heart.Book & music lover. Graduate of The University of North Texas, now living in San Antonio. Volunteering is what I do. I am still addicted to LOST. But above all spreading His love and Message is my purpose in life.

Save money, work with kids, be an Americorp member & serve Christ= An internship that has it all.

Hey guys! I just wanted to share an amazing opportunity to serve Christ this summer by doing an internship with Project Transformation.  I did it last summer and it has been the most rewarding, humbling experience.  Between all the hours of planning lesson plans, the many trips to Chik Fil A, exploring downtown Dallas, reenacting the Royal Wedding, worshiping in a parking lot where you could see The Dallas Skyline, dancing at PT Prom, planking at In-N-Out, Thrift shopping, real talks with my youth, Harry Potter marathons and meeting very unique people, its an expericene everyone should have atleast once.

With Project Transformation you work children and youth who are under-served through a summer camp at a church (M-T). This is not your typical camp. You have your own lessons, including Bible lessons, it’s amazing to see these children grow throughout the summer. You get to go to their homes  and interact with their families. On Fridays Project Transformation focuses on the young adults who are serving and offers Career Exploration to them. Every Friday you have a pick from  four different places that you can go to. I can honestly say that I learned a lot through the places I picked. I learned more about myself and the communities I would like to work with. A few examples of what they have are; Ministry opportunities,  working with Homeless, Counseling, Children’s Shelters, Health System, Criminal Justice, Nonprofits and many more.  And on top of spending your summer with amazing children and networking for your future you will also be developing spiritually. Project Transformation offers Worship Services, Bible Studies weekly for the interns. There is diversity within the interns and so it is a great opportunity to learn from each other.

I won’t lie this internship does take commitment. It will be your life for the summer.

But you will not regret it.

    And now for other pluses:

You will live at the SMU Campus in Dallas (its beautiful & you get to live in DALLAS!!!!)

Dinner Sunday-Thursday will be provided by many amazing church volunteers

Time off is Friday afternoon – Sunday morning

    $2.500 living Stipend

$1,468 education Voucher (issued by AmeriCorps)

This is an opportunity like no other. It will be hard work but once you are done you will realize how rewarding it is. I now look back to it and would not change a thing about my summer with PT.  I not only served children and their families (a passion of mine) , I made amazing friendships and  my relationship with Christ grew stronger. We always say we want to go away to a mission trip but here is a way for us to serve right in our backyard.

Think about it! Pray about it and if you feel called to serve with Project Transformation this summer fill out an application on their website!

    Share it with your friends.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I love talking about my summer! (:
